The smell is caused by Oil that has spilt on your pet’s fur while you are administering the dose. The fur speeds up the oxidation of the Oil by facilitating aeration.
Luckily there is a solution that works very well; just mix a little vinegar into water and wipe the affected area with a clean cloth moistened in this solution.
